The Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500RA Acoustic Guitar
The Epiphone Masterbilt EF500RA is a medium priced acoustic guitar that has great tone, quality manufacturing and a vintage look that pre-dates the 1960’s. The EF-500RA has a slightly wider neck than other guitars of this kind which makes it well suited for finger-style players and those with larger fingers.
Before Epiphone merged with Gibson in 1957 the company had a world-class guitar manufacturing reputation. Epiphone is look to return to that reputation with the Masterbilt Guitar Series. The design phase of all Masterbilt guitars is undertaken by Gibson/Epiphone acoustic engineers at Gibson headquarters in Nashville. The manufacturing phase is completed in China by hand under Epiphone’s direct supervision and quality control. With high quality Chinese craftsmanship and excellent American design the Masterbilt series achieves a high level of sound and playability.
The Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500RA Acoustic Guitar has a warm tone due to the guitars all solid woods, including premium solid rosewood back and sides and a solid premium Sitka spruce top. The Epiphone EF-500RA features a V-shape mahogany neck and including a wide 1-3/4″ rosewood fretboard for easy finger-style playing. The EF-500RA features Abalone inlays on rosette and on body, neck, and head binding. The EF-500RA is elegantly finished with gold hardware.
The Epiphone EF-500RA features fretwork that is smooth and even and a good action the length of the fretboard that give this guitar high playability.This allows the Epiphone EF500RA to have a consistent sound what ever fret you play on. The use of Mahogany for the back and sides, gives the EF-500RA a warm tone with pronounced midrange and high end. The sound of this guitar should also keep getting better with age due to the solid woods.
